Asymptotic safety - the main ideas and key consequences
Prof. Astrid Eichhorn (CP3-Origins, University of Southern Denmark)
Lecture - 1  Lecture - 2  Lecture - 3  Lecture - 4  Lecture - 5

The 5 sessions will be a mix of lecture with short exercise-sessions and discussions rounds (using the zoom breakout-room feature).

The topics to be covered are:

- scale-dependence in QFT, asymptotic freedom, asymptotic safety, the triviality problem

- mechanism for asymptotic freedom

- mechanisms and examples for asymptotic safety in non-gravitational theories

- enhanced predictive power from quantum scale symmetry, a.k.a. asymptotic safety

- status of the Standard Model of particle physics and perturbative quantum gravity

- towards searches for asymptotic safety in gravity-matter models: available tools and introduction to the functional Renormalization Group

- status of asymptotically safe gravity-matter models and open questions

- reading guide to (beyond-)Standard-Model-gravity systems in asymptotic safety

Useful reading material includes:
