Belém city is located in the North of Brazil and is the gateway to the Amazon River. The city is accessible via an international airport with direct flights from Lisbon (Portugal), Miami (United States), and most major Brazilian capitals.
Founded in 1616, Belém was the first European colony on the Amazon, retaining the charm of tree-filled squares, churches, and traditional tiles of colonial times. Due to its abundant mango trees, Belém is also known as "Cidade das Mangueiras" (City of Mango Trees). Belém is surrounded by islands featuring forests typical of the Amazon region. A visit to the tourist attractions on Combu Island (https://ilhadocombu.tur.br/a-ilha-do-combu/) offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the local cuisine and the Amazonian atmosphere.
The city is culturally rich and diverse, a place of various artistic expressions and important cultural events. Typical Amazon-inspired food is one of the main attractions of the city — try tasting "pato no tucupi", "maniçoba", as well as unique Amazonian fruits such as cupuaçu, bacuri, and açaí. The city has a vast network of restaurants and bars, in addition to a good hotel structure.
Belém's climate is characteristic of the equatorial region, with only two seasons in the year: the "summer" (sunny days) and the "winter" (rainy days) with daytime temperatures rarely dropping below 22 degrees Celsius.
A special social event with local music will soon be announced.
